Great to meet you!

My name is Marissa Winter, and I have been working as a clinical social worker for over a decade. Throughout my career, I have supported individuals with a wide range of needs, always approaching therapy from a trauma-informed perspective. I believe in creating a warm, supportive space where clients feel heard and understood, while also helping them stay accountable to the goals they set for themselves.

I earned my Master’s in Social Work and have worked extensively in both rural and urban communities, which has given me experience working with diverse populations and challenges. My approach to therapy is practical, collaborative, and tailored to the unique needs of each individual. I specialize in solution-focused care, motivational interviewing, and trauma-informed CBT, and I strive to help clients build meaningful, lasting change in their lives.

My approach to therapy

I believe therapy works best when it feels genuine, collaborative, and grounded in trust. My approach is warm, supportive, and trauma-informed, while also being practical and direct when needed. I tailor therapy to each individual using approaches such as solution-focused therapy, motivational interviewing, and trauma-informed CBT to help clients build insight, coping skills, and meaningful change. My areas of focus include infertility, addiction and recovery, relationship concerns, trauma, anxiety, self-esteem, and life transitions, and I strive to create a space where clients feel both supported and empowered.

What you can expect from me

Clients can expect their first session with me to feel welcoming, supportive, and judgment-free. I focus on creating a safe and collaborative environment where clients can openly discuss their experiences, challenges, and goals at their own pace. My approach is warm, practical, and trauma-informed, while also encouraging accountability and growth. Together, we begin identifying meaningful goals and developing a plan tailored to each client’s unique needs and strengths.
