Great to meet you!

Hi! I am Marissa, thank you for taking the time to read this and decide if I might be the therapist for you. I have a Masters in Social work from Cleveland State University and have been a Licensed Social Worker (LISW-S) since 2016. I have had the honor to work with a diverse population of people over the years. Currently I am working in private practice with individuals and families. I work with children as young as 3 years old through the lifespan. I have a passion for perinatal mental health, women's health, chronic illnesses, parenting, and children/adolescents.

Clients have often expressed feeling I am genuine and authentic in our work together. I take pride in this as I feel we are all people trying to navigate life with the skills we have and all need additional support to find healthier or better skills. I look forward to getting to know you and please do not hesitate to reach out with any questions you may have.

My approach to therapy

I am hopeful to give you space to just be you. However that may look. And for you to authentically share in a way that feels safe and healing. I approach therapy with flexibility, acceptance, empathy, creativity, and patience.

As for the therapeutic modalities utilized, I often use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Art and Play therapy strategies, Motivational Interviewing among many others. I am a firm believer in using what works for the individual and leaving the rest. We will work together to figure out what that is for you.

What you can expect from me

In our first session we will get to know each other to ensure it is a good fit for you! This is a good time to ask any questions you may have for me and for me to have a better understanding of how I can support you.
