Hello! My name is Mariya and I received my Master's in Counseling, with an undergrad degree in Human Development. I became a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in June 2020. I have worked with many individuals from many walks of life, including depression, anxiety, grief/loss, ADHD, job changes, relationship concerns/issues, parenting stress and much more. I am here to provide hope, a different perspective or guidance on whatever concerns you may have.
I believe every person has a unique story in who they are. I use talk therapy, strengths based approach as well as empathy to do my best to understand you and support your goals. I believe mental health is just as important as physical health, and will encourage coping mechanisms to keep your brain healthy too! I have worked with many age ranges, using play therapy for children, talk and narrative therapy for teens and adults, and CBT for those individuals who need more structure.
I hope our sessions create a safe place the other person can express themselves freely and find the strength within themselves to find solutions to their problems. I try to teach or encourage individuals to find coping skills that are beneficial to them, like I said every person is unique! I am here to join you along your journey through life, and that I can support and teach you something along the way.
