Great to meet you!

I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with a master’s degree and over 20 years of experience working with a wide range of clients and concerns. Over the years, I’ve worked in clinics, run my own private practice, and provided therapy to enlisted Navy personnel and their spouses. For the past five years, I’ve primarily provided therapy through telehealth.

Therapy can sometimes feel unfamiliar or intimidating, especially when you’re meeting a new therapist, but I don’t believe it has to feel that way. I try to create a relaxed, comfortable environment where you can feel like yourself. I bring genuine curiosity, warmth, humor when appropriate, and most importantly, authenticity to my work. I want therapy to feel like a real conversation and a genuine human connection—not like you’re being analyzed or judged.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is collaborative, down-to-earth, and tailored to the individual. I believe therapy works best when you feel comfortable enough to be yourself and can develop a genuine connection with your therapist. Rather than assuming one approach works for everyone, I take the time to understand you, what you’ve been through, what may be keeping you stuck, and what you would like to change.

One of my specialties is helping people work through trauma and trauma-related issues. Trauma can take many forms, and past experiences can continue to influence how we think, feel, behave, and relate to others long after they have occurred. I also have extensive experience helping clients with depression and anxiety, as well as working with men and issues involving relationships, life transitions, and emotional well-being.

My experience also includes addiction, domestic violence, parenting, and a wide range of other concerns. Depending on your needs, our work may involve exploring past experiences, recognizing patterns that are no longer serving you, developing new ways of responding, and finding practical ways to create meaningful change in your life.

What you can expect from me

The first session is really about getting to know each other and helping you feel comfortable. I want to hear what’s been going on, what brought you to therapy, and what you’d like some help with, but I don’t expect you to tell me everything in the first hour. We can take our time.

I’ll ask questions to better understand you, your experiences, and what you’ve already tried, while also giving you plenty of room to talk about what feels important to you. I believe that feeling comfortable and connected with your therapist is an important part of therapy, so we’ll also use that first session to see if we’re a good fit for each other.

You don’t need to come in knowing exactly what your goals are or where to start. We can figure that out together. Ideally, by the end of our first session, you’ll feel heard, a little more comfortable, and have a sense of what working together might look like.
