Great to meet you!

I'm Mark, a Licensed Professional Counselor with 23 years of counseling experience and 32 years working with people across all stages of life, from 4-year-olds to 79-year-olds. I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Master of Education with a focus on Counseling and Guidance, and I am also a Pre-K through 12th grade Texas Certified Special Education Teacher. I stay current in my field by attending two professional growth conferences each year and actively serving in national, state, and local counseling associations.

Outside of work, I'm a husband, a father of three sons, and soon to be a grandfather. I'm easygoing, personable, and not afraid of self-disclosure. I believe that openness goes both ways. I have my own personal counseling and support network, and my family has benefited from counseling services as well. I know firsthand that it takes real strength to ask for help, and I deeply respect anyone who takes that step.

My approach to therapy

My approach is humanistic — non-judgmental, empathetic, and centered entirely on you. While I have my own values and beliefs, I never impose them on my clients. I respect that your values are your own, and my role is to support you, not to judge or redirect you. I bring warmth and a genuine enjoyment of people to every session, and I draw on broad experience across areas including anxiety, depression, helplessness, self-esteem, relationships, and conflict. Most of my background is with adolescents, though I've worked meaningfully with clients across all ages and settings — both school and private practice.

What you can expect from me

Our first sessions are about getting to know each other. We'll explore your strengths and the areas where you'd like to grow, and begin building a foundation for becoming a better version of yourself. There's no pressure — just an honest, supportive conversation where you're heard and respected from the very start.
