Mark Searle

Hello! I am so happy to be partnering with Headway. My background in Clinical Social Work is grounded in trauma-informed care, with a Master’s degree emphasizing the impact of trauma on emotional, cognitive, and relational functioning. As an LCSW, I bring the core values of social work into my practice, including the dignity and worth of each person, the importance of human connection, cultural humility, and social justice. I work from a client-centered and integrative clinical framework.

I specialize in clients facing challenges with trauma, PTSD, grief and loss (especially from suicide death), depression, anxiety, and unexpected life events.

My approach to therapy is collaborative and tailored to each person’s needs, recognizing that there is no single path to healing. I bring a warm, inquisitive, and affirming presence to our sessions. My approach is highly participatory—we tackle challenges as a team—and I'm not afraid to bring appropriate humor into the room to help ease the heavy stuff.

In our first session together, my clients can expect a safe place for them to tell their story and to respond to my questions that come from a genuine place of curiosity and compassion. We will determine if we are a "good fit" for each other, and we will begin to build our therapeutic alliance. Research consistently shows a that a strong relationship between the client and provider is THE top predictor of positive clinical outcomes.

A strong therapeutic relationship is at the heart of this work, and I place significant care and intention into creating a space where clients feel safe, validated, and genuinely supported as we face their challenges together.
