Great to meet you!

My name is Mark Taylor. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Alabama and a National Certified Counselor. I'm also an active member of the Alabama Counseling Association. I enjoy working with individuals of all ages. I specialize in providing clinical services to children, adolescents and young adults coping with anxiety, trauma, depression, grief, loss and social development. My passion is to encourage and uplift young individuals who come from dis-advantaged backgrounds with limited resources and lack of leadership and guidance. What drives my passion is my strong belief that every individual has a God-given purpose no matter who they are, with the potential to overcome all obstacles.

My approach to therapy

My journey into therapy began with a deep-seated dedication to uplifting and empowering young men, especially those who come from disadvantaged backgrounds and face systemic barriers, limited resources, or a lack of mentorship and guidance. My life’s work is rooted in a deep calling to serve, support, and walk alongside those navigating the complexities of growing up without the support systems they deserve. With a unique blend of counseling expertise and a ministry grounded in music, I connect with my clients in ways that are both compassionate and transformative. At the heart of my mission is a firm belief that every individual—regardless of their background, circumstances, or past—has a God-given purpose. I see potential where others may see limitation, and I am committed to helping my clients recognize their inherent worth and walk boldly toward their future. In therapy, I encourage those I counsel to overcome obstacles, challenge negative narratives, and build lives filled with meaning, direction, and faith. I'm continually driven by the fundamental belief to impact lives by helping others uncover their purpose, build confidence, and pursue lasting transformation.

What you can expect from me

Our first session will be a gentle introduction, a chance for us to get to know each other and explore what’s bringing you here. We’ll talk about your background, your experiences, and the questions or concerns that are weighing on you. Therapy is a process, not a quick fix. Together, we’ll build a foundation of trust and understanding, and from there, we’ll work at a pace that feels right for you. It’s completely normal to feel nervous or unsure at the beginning. We’ll take it one step at a time, and I’ll be here to support and guide you through every part of the journey as you begin to explore your purpose and reconnect with what truly matters to you.
