Great to meet you!

“Your Willingness To Look Within Is What Empowers You To Change.”

I’m Markia, a licensed therapist who believes everyone deserves therapy!

My journey into therapy began early, inspired by personal experiences with grief and loss, and a desire to help others navigate life’s emotional challenges. I describe myself as a “professional communicator” who is passionate about helping people feel seen, heard, and understood. My goal is to create a safe, welcoming space where you can explore, heal, and grow. My work is guided by three core values: Empathy, Empowerment, and Self-Exploration.

My approach to therapy

I take a holistic, client-centered approach, offering what I like to call “therapy for the soul.” I combine evidence-based techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, and Person-Centered Therapy with personalized strategies tailored to your unique needs. I focus on helping clients recognize and build upon their own inner resources, empowering them to create meaningful change in their lives.

Areas of focus include:

  • Women’s Mental Health
  • Racial and Cultural Identity Support
  • Empowerment and Boundary Setting
  • Anxiety, Depression, and Emotional Regulation
  • Relationships and Life Transitions
  • First-Generation Challenges
  • Self-Esteem and Personal Growth

What you can expect from me

Your first session is all about understanding where you are and what you need. Together, we’ll explore your goals, challenges, and current coping strategies. I’ll provide a supportive and nonjudgmental space for you to share openly and begin identifying practical tools and strategies to navigate life’s difficulties. The first session is a chance for you to get a sense of how we can work together and to start your journey toward healing, growth, and self-discovery.
