Great to meet you!

After 30 years as an occupational therapist helping overcome physical challenges, I returned to school to pursue my desire to become a licensed counselor. Obviously, I believe it is never too late to pursue a dream. I also believe that mental health is as important as physical ability. I believe that asking for help is a sign of strength rather than one of weakness. Life is a journey and there will be challenges. My goal is to help you eliminate obstacles that stand in the way of your dreams.

A bit about my approach to therapy

Each client is met with genuine respect and honesty in order to encourage open communication and trust. Every client comes with individual life experiences that require a variety of strategies to meet your needs. In addition to traditional talk therapy, specialized tools such as EMDR, sand tray therapy and expressive arts may be included. Solution focused, cognitive behavioral and family systems approaches are tailored to meeting your goals.

What you can expect from our first session

My goal is that each client will leave their session with a sense of relief from being heard and understood. I do not promise immediate solutions. I do promise to work with you to develop insight and solutions to help you achieve your goals. Clients will know they are not alone, and that change is possible. They will know that" Nothing changes unless Something changes". Change begins by finding the strength and courage to take the first step and reach out for help. I look forward to your call.
