Great to meet you!

I have been a Licensed Clinical Social Worker for 11 years and in the field of mental health for over 30 years. I offer in person/office visits for the Central Valley of California residents. My approach supports people in their recovery from chronic pain conditions and medically unexplained symptoms that have a neuroplastic component, as well as symptoms of anxiety, depression, chronic or complex PTSD and other mental health challenges. I have a master's degree in social work and an undergraduate degree in Sociology earning Summa Cum Laude and Distintion in my academics. I have trained with Dr. Howard Schubiner and am trained in The Sarno & Sachs Solution to learn mindbody methods for neuroplastic recovery. I combine these methods with Dr. David Burn's "TEAM CBT," "The Daring Way" created Dr. Brene Brown and Louse Hay's "You Can Heal Your Life" approaches. Yes! I have solved my own chronic conditions including migraines, depression, anxiety, PTSD, back pain, hip pain, foot pain, knee pain, eczema, cyclic vomiting syndrome, IBS and insomnia to name a few.

My approach to therapy

Understanding brain science/pain science is a main portion of the treatment. Psychotherapy homework may include activities such as practicing JournalSpeak (a targeted style of journaling created by Nicole Sachs, LCSW), viewing the documentary "All the Rage- Saved by Sarno," listening to custom assigned podcasts, and reading the book/audible "Unlearn Your Pain, The Science of Recovering from Chronic Pain, Fatigue, Anxiety and Depression."

What you can expect from me

With a warm, collaborative, transparent, light-hearted in-person and down to earth style, I provide understanding, support and empathy while we apply research-backed psychotherapeutic methods to support your recovery and wellbeing. The approach promotes active change, unlearning/rewiring emotional/physical pain pathways, cultivating a felt sense of safety and it also involves befriending emotions. It is important to have time to invest in the process as those who are successful in solving symptoms of depression, anxiety, post traumatic stress disorder and chronic pain conditions are those who engage in the psychotherapy homework in between the weekly sessions. If you invest your time, do the work and commit to the process, your result will astound you!!
