Marquin Decker

Welcome! My name is Marquin Decker and I hold a Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of North Texas. I am Licensed Professional Counselor and am EMDR Trained.

I didn’t grow up with the healthy mother-daughter relationship I longed for, and that experience shaped my desire to help others find healing. Today, I’m passionate about helping my clients build the connection, understanding, and relationship they deserve. I specialize in working with women and teens as well as incorporating equine and animal-assisted therapies. I am also trained in play therapy and can work with children ages 6-10yo.

I view my clients as a whole person who I should not be asking "what's wrong with you" but rather, "what happened to you." I believe our family of origin is our first "society" where we learn how to view the world, and we have choice on whether we choose to keep this perspective. I work from a trauma-informed lens, understanding that every person has the capacity to heal within the context of a safe relationship.

Our first session will be all about getting to know your needs and expectations for our sessions together. I will ask some questions to help me gather a bit of history and to see if we are a good fit. Remember--you have choice in your therapist!
