Great to meet you!

I became a therapist because I know what it feels like to want change, growth, and relief—and not always know where to start. My work is grounded in compassion, curiosity, and the belief that people heal best when they feel genuinely seen, supported, and understood. I bring 11 years of experience in the mental-health field and have supported individuals, couples, and families through challenges related to trauma, depression, anxiety, family conflict, relationship stress, identity development, and life transitions.

My education includes a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and a Master’s in Human Services Counseling: Marriage & Family Therapy, both from Liberty University. Professionally, I’ve worked across inpatient, crisis stabilization, outpatient therapy, community-based services, private practice, and intensive program leadership. I also serve as a clinical supervisor for emerging therapists, which continually strengthens my own practice and keeps me grounded in evidence-based care.

I specialize in working with adults, young adults, couples, parents, and families—especially those navigating trauma histories, communication challenges, family-of-origin stress, or the desire to “break cycles” and build something different. I also have a strong passion for supporting individuals seeking purpose, identity clarity, and emotional stability.

In therapy with me, you’ll experience a balance of empathy, insight, and practical tools. My goal is to help you make sense of your story, strengthen your relationships, and build a healthier, more grounded version of yourself.

My approach to therapy

I specialize in supporting individuals who feel ready to get their life back on track. Many of my clients come from families where emotional expression, safety, or stability were not always modeled. I help people understand the patterns they’ve inherited, navigate the impact of family trauma, and build new ways of relating that align with who they want to become.

My work integrates cognitive behavioral therapy, trauma-informed care, mindfulness, and relational approaches. I balance compassionate listening with honest, practical guidance—helping clients gain clarity, strengthen coping skills, and make meaningful changes in their relationships and daily life.

In the song “Bag Lady,” Erykah Badu schooled us on the dangers of emotional baggage, reminding us that “one day all them bags gon’ get in your way.” I often use this metaphor in my work because it speaks to a universal truth: we all carry bags, and sometimes we don’t even realize how heavy they’ve become or how much they slow us down.

As a therapist, I believe the most important relationship you will ever have is the one you have with yourself. Getting to know yourself on an intimate level—your triggers, your patterns, your needs—is essential for understanding how you show up in your relationships, your family, and your life.

Therapy isn’t about perfection—it’s about growth. Together, we will work toward stability, confidence, and the freedom to build a life rooted in purpose, healing, and wholeness.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, you can expect a welcoming and judgment-free space where we begin getting to know one another. I’ll ask questions to understand your history, current concerns, strengths, and goals so I can fully support your therapeutic journey. We’ll move at a pace that feels comfortable for you, clarify what you hope to gain from therapy, and begin building a treatment plan that aligns with your needs. My goal for the first session is for you to feel heard, understood, and confident that you’re not navigating this process alone.
