Great to meet you!

Sometimes, people are incredibly good at caring for others—far better than they are at caring for themselves. If you’re someone with a high level of empathy, you might have found yourself wondering: How did I get here? You set out to be kind and supportive, but now you're feeling overwhelmed, anxious, burdened, or alone.

If that resonates with you—or if you're navigating grief, anxiety, racing thoughts, or just struggling to function like you once did—therapy may be the next right step. Healing is possible. Relief is possible. There are ways to care for your whole self: to process the past, find peace in the present, and move forward with hope.

I'm Marsha Pontius, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, and I’m deeply committed to helping individuals and couples (on a private-pay basis) through life's challenges. I’ve worked in complex, emotionally demanding situations and bring both experience and compassion to every session.

In addition to traditional talk therapy, I am trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), a powerful tool for trauma and emotional distress. I also integrate other evidence-based approaches tailored to meet the unique needs of each client.

You don’t have to carry everything alone. Healing starts with a conversation.

A bit about my approach to therapy

I firmly believe in everyone’s capacity for growth and transformation. Each day, I witness the strength and resilience of my clients as they take meaningful steps forward through our collaborative work. My approach is grounded in empathy and free of judgment. I draw from a range of therapeutic methods to support clients in gaining insight, healing, and a deeper sense of empowerment in their lives.

What you can expect from our first session

Clients can expect to leave sessions with greater clarity, emotional insight, and practical tools to navigate life’s challenges. My goal is to create a safe, supportive space where clients feel heard and understood, and where meaningful change can begin. Over time, clients often experience increased self-awareness, improved coping skills, and a stronger sense of empowerment in their daily lives.
