Great to meet you!

Hello, my name is Marsia Rangel, MSW, LCSW. I am passionate about working with those who want make a change to become their most authentic, genuine self. Through my experience working with various populations (children to older adults), I have learned a lot to help those who are ready. I have a Bachelor's in Psychology and Sociology from the University of California, Riverside and a Master's in Social Work from the University of Southern California. I have 12+ years of experience in the world of therapy. My career started with the County of Riverside in the Department of Mental Health working with children and adolescents. I have had the opportunity to work with adults in a clinic setting when I worked as a medical social worker for a private medical practice. The last 6 years, I have had the privilege of working with a therapy private practice working with children, adults and older adults.

My approach to therapy

I take from my experience in using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy including Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Parent Child Interaction Therapy, Play Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Solution Focused Therapy, along with mindfulness techniques, to work with the different populations I provide treatment.

What you can expect from me

My goal for our first session is to create a safe space in which you can feel comfortable to share what is going on in life and what is affecting you overall. I like to start every intake informing you of what the appointment will consist of, while also guiding you through the intake questions for me to get as much information that may be needed for us to complete our intake. My priorities are safety, comfort and respect.
