Great to meet you!

Hi! I am a licensed clinical social worker and graduated from Indiana University with my Masters in Social Work. I have been in the mental health field for 27 years and therapist for the last 13. My specialities are working with adults who are struggling to accept a life that didn't turn out the way you thought, adjusting to life transitions, women going through peri and menopause, depression, anxiety, and grief, including loss of a pet.

My approach to therapy

It's important to me that people feel seen in therapy. I strive to provide an open, warm, safe, and light hearted environment where you can feel free to show up exactly where you're at. I try not to only listen, but to be an active partner with you in helping you learn how to adapt and to cope with life's challenges, and the things out of our control, so that you can experience emotional freedom from that which may have been holding you back.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, I would to hear more about what brings you to therapy and what you hope to get from working together. I know that it takes time to build trust with your therapist and to develop a safe therapeutic relationship, so I will let you decide how much of your story you wish to share in sessions as I work to create an environment you can feel safe to be vulnerable and open. I will also challenge you when needed or offer different perspectives, and sometimes with a touch of humor, when appropriate, to help you move towards your goals.
