Great to meet you!

Taking the first step toward therapy can feel overwhelming, but you don’t have to face life’s challenges alone. My name is Martha Chacon, and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) dedicated to helping individuals find clarity, strength, and lasting change.

I currently serve as an executive leader at a Crisis Residential Facility and an Outpatient Mental Health Program. In these roles, I support individuals through various stages of their mental health journeys, from crises to long-term recovery and personal growth.

I hold a Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology, specializing in Marriage and Family Therapy, along with another graduate degree in business. I am currently pursuing my doctorate to expand my clinical expertise and better serve my community.

My approach to therapy is personalized and eclectic, meaning I customize evidence-based methods to suit each person’s distinct needs and experiences. I believe therapy is most effective when built on a strong, trusting relationship, and I aim to create a safe, supportive space where you feel truly heard.

I have worked with diverse populations throughout my career, and I am passionate about helping people from all walks of life overcome challenges, build resilience, and develop healthier, more fulfilling lives.

When I am not working, I enjoy spending time with my family, crafting, reading, traveling, and giving back to the community. I also serve on various boards supporting initiatives that strengthen communities and expand access to essential resources.

If you are ready to take the next step toward growth and healing, I would be honored to support you on that journey.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is collaborative, compassionate, and personalized. I believe that each person’s experiences, challenges, and goals are unique, so I customize my approach to fit each client’s specific needs. My therapeutic style is eclectic, meaning I draw from various evidence-based methods and techniques to support each individual in the most effective way.

I focus on creating a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment where clients feel at ease sharing their thoughts, feelings, and life experiences. Developing a strong therapeutic relationship is important to me, as trust and connection are essential components of the healing process.

In our work together, we may focus on developing coping strategies, enhancing self-awareness, strengthening relationships, and building resilience. My goal is to help clients gain insight, develop practical tools, and feel empowered to make meaningful and lasting changes in their lives.

With my experience working in crisis services, residential treatment, and outpatient mental health programs, I understand that individuals may be at very different stages in their healing journey. Whether someone is navigating a difficult life transition, managing stress or anxiety, or seeking personal growth, I aim to meet them where they are and support them in moving forward.

I believe therapy is not just about addressing challenges, but also about helping individuals recognize their strengths, rediscover hope, and build a life that feels more balanced and fulfilling.

What you can expect from me

Starting therapy can feel like a big step, and it’s normal to experience a range of emotions during the first session. My goal is to create a welcoming, safe, and nonjudgmental space where you feel comfortable sharing your experiences at your own pace.

During our initial session, we'll take time to get to know each other. I'll ask questions to better understand your current concerns, personal background, and what you hope to achieve from therapy. This conversation helps me gain a clearer picture of your needs and allows us to start identifying meaningful goals.

Together, we will begin discussing what progress might look like and how therapy can support you in reaching those goals. I also encourage clients to ask questions about the process so you feel informed and comfortable as we move forward.

My aim is for you to leave the first session feeling heard, supported, and hopeful about the path ahead. Therapy is a collaborative effort, and together we will develop the tools, insights, and confidence necessary for your growth and well-being.
