Great to meet you!

Welcome, my name is Martha Nunez.

I am dual certified Family Nurse Practitioner, Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse practitioner with over 20 year of experience in healthcare. My practice spans from family Practice, and hospital medicine and includes experience with pediatrics, adults, and the geriatric population. I recognize that stress and trauma have a way of creeping up into ones life and at times may cause a mind-body imbalance. I strongly believe that expressing stress, fear or grief is not a weakness and one can move from surviving to thriving with the proper help. Healing from trauma is a journey, glad we are in this together.

My approach to therapy

While providing care we will use a holistic approach which means addressing the "whole body". A holistic approach involves:

  1. Physical
  2. Emotional
  3. Social
  4. Spiritual well being

What you can expect from me

The first session (usually60 min) is as important to me as it is to you. During the first session, we will meet to discover your needs as well as how I as a provider can help you. During this time we will look at the "whole picture". We will discuss your medical history and current labs to ensure that chronic conditions such as an infection, thyroid, and/or diabetes, are ruled out as some of these conditions can mimic psychiatric conditions. After a careful review of medical history, we will then look at your current neurobiology. During this time we will discuss treatment options which may include medications and their side effects, sleep hygiene, nutrition, and exercise patterns. As this process may take some time, please be aware that medication prescribing may not be given during the first initial encounter.

Follow up sessions (30 min)during this time we will discuss what is going well and what is not.
