Great to meet you!

I'm a recovering addict (42 years clean and sober), an ordained pastor, who's become a licensed professional counselor. I have extensive training as a Cognitive Behavioral Therapist (specifically, Rational Emotive Behavioral, Motivational Interviewing, and Mindfulness), and I've been trained in EMDR and other evidence-based treatment modalities. I've been a practicing counselor since 2001.

A bit about my approach to therapy

My approach to helping you break through the obstacles that seem to be holding you back in life will be very empathetic, strength and solution focused, and encouraging. Life's too short to be unhappy, unsure, or unfulfilled. Let me help you learn and develop better ways to handle the issues that are standing in the way of your growth and goals. I believe treatment is complete when you are experiencing self-congruence (I feel like myself) again.

What you can expect from our first session

My ultimate goal is to help you feel calm, consistent (with what is working for you), and confident within yourself. I do this by helping you identify triggers (trauma), learn coping skills (desensitizing disturbing thoughts), and replacing behaviors or beliefs that make you feel other than who you want to be.
