Great to meet you!

I have been working with children, teens, and adults in a variety of settings for over 20 years. Some of those settings include a crisis response facility for adults, an inpatient center, serving homeless and runaway teens, and private practice.

I utilize principles of IFS, CBT, Solution focused Brief Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and EMDR in my treatment.

Areas of specialty include adolescent development, depression, anxiety, women’s issues, ADHD, family dynamics and life changes.

My approach to therapy

My goal is to help you unearth your own goals and motivations so that we can improve your overall functioning and outlook on life. Your job as the partner with me in creating goals and plans, and monitoring progress and care to make sure it meets your needs.

Your task is to express what you are thinking and feeling as openly as possible, and mine is to listen and help you to understand yourself better, in order to more effectively deal with the problems you are facing.

What you can expect from me

Since therapy often involves discussing troubling and unpleasant aspects of your life, you may experience some discomfort with feelings such as sadness, guilt, anger, frustration, loneliness, and helplessness. Some of the benefits of therapy are that it can lead to better relationships, solutions to specific problems, and significant reductions in feelings of distress. There are no specific predictions, certainties, or guarantees of what you will experience.
