Great to meet you!
Let me introduce myself. I am Marva C. Williams, M.Div, MA, LPC. My path to counseling began behind a hairstylist’s chair, listening to clients talk about everyday life and challenges. I am an alumni of the University of Tennessee, Knoxville with a double major in Spanish and Religious Studies. I continued on to obtain a Master of Divinity in Pastoral Care and Counseling from the Interdenominational Theological Center in Atlanta, GA. From Pentecostal Theological Seminary in Cleveland, TN, I have a MA in Clinical Mental Health. My experience also includes completing 4 units of Clinical Pastoral Education, which included a Chaplain Residency at WakeMed Hospital in Raleigh, NC, which is a level one trauma center. I have worked as a Resident in Counseling in Virginia since 2019. I specialize in men’s counseling, with additional focus on clergy care, grief, and burnout. Using a practical, problem-solving approach that blends CBT and Gestalt therapy, I help clients move past what’s keeping them stuck and reclaim their story
