Great to meet you!

Not your typical therapist...Mary primarily works with clients who are dealing with lingering effects from childhood trauma, from bullying to abuse, and often experiencing explosive anger, anxiety and depression. Clients who struggle with trusting others and themselves and have consistently formed bad relationships and unhealthy attachments.

My approach to therapy

Two heads are better than one. Client and I work together in establishing therapy goals, discuss how you want your life to be, take steps together in achieving these goals. Sessions involve talk therapy to gain deeper insight into yourself and others, as well as calming techniques and healthy coping skills. We’ll focus on connecting with parts of you that need support and comfort, interrupting cycles of rumination, validating your emotions, and fostering a deeper understanding of yourself.

What you can expect from me

"I use EMDR to help reprocess painful memories, and I integrate Inner Child Therapy with IFS (Internal Family Systems), also known as parts work, a powerful and effective approach for relieving symptoms of depression and anxiety. You can learn more on my website at mfornes.com."
