Great to meet you!

Hello! I'm Mary Ann Yarbrough, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). My passion is helping individuals heal, grow, and discover their inner strengths. I provide a safe, neutral space where you can express your thoughts and concerns with the support you need. My approach is rooted in meeting you exactly where you are, recognizing that you are the expert in your own life and experiences. Therapy is most effective when built on a foundation of trust, authenticity, and care. Whether you need a space to vent or work through deeper issues, I’m here to listen and guide you.

With over five years of experience, I specialize in helping adolescents with behavioral health challenges and young adults navigating life transitions. I also work with those with seizure disorders such as Epilepsy and Pseudo Seizure Disorder (PNES) and navigating the challenges there are to live or care with someone with this disorder.

Taking the first step to seek therapy is a courageous act, and I want to commend you for doing so. I understand the barriers and stigmas around therapy, but you don’t have to go through this alone. We can navigate this journey together, and I believe in your ability to achieve the peace and healing you're seeking.

My approach to therapy

I believe in a collaborative and client-centered approach to therapy. My goal is to create a safe, non-judgmental space where you feel heard, understood, and supported. I work alongside you to explore your challenges, build on your strengths, and develop practical strategies for growth and healing. I strive to meet you where you are in your journey, recognizing that each person’s path is unique.

I take an eclectic approach, drawing from evidence-based therapies like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Strengths-Based Therapy, and Solution-Focused Therapy, among others. I adapt these techniques to fit your needs and goals, empowering you to create meaningful change at your own pace. Whether you're navigating life transitions, dealing with stress, or working through past experiences, I am here to support you in finding balance, healing, and growth.

I also emphasize the importance of building a strong therapeutic relationship based on trust and mutual respect. Therapy is most effective when we work together as a team, and I am here to walk alongside you in your journey of self-discovery and transformation.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, we'll take time to get to know each other and discuss your goals for therapy. I'll listen closely to your concerns, and together, we'll explore strategies and approaches that can help you feel supported and make progress toward your well-being. You'll leave with a clearer sense of direction and a plan for how we can work together.
