Great to meet you!

Before becoming a therapist, I worked as a magazine editor, an English and writing teacher, and an assistant adjunct professor of American literature. I hold a Bachelor of Arts in American Studies from Mills College, a Master of Arts in English from Portland State University, and a Master of Social Work from the University of Texas at Austin. I am also a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner. I have an eclectic style that integrates SE, IPNB, narrative therapy and parts work.

A bit about my approach to therapy

Self exploration with a therapist is like looking at a map; together we will talk about where you have been, where you are now, and then work together to figure out the best path to get you where you want to be. Your body and mind are the compass guiding us to health and healing. When we carefully hold our past experiences with compassion and curiosity, the painful parts of our history can lead to the most rewarding experiences in our future. Participating in therapy is an admirable and transformative experience. The rewards of this work can be a deep understanding of ourselves and our loved ones that can lead to compassion, empathy, empowerment, and life satisfaction.
