Great to meet you!

I received my Master’s and LSW in Social Work in 2012 and my Clinician Licensure in 2015. I also have a bachelors in education. I practiced in an adult outpatient hospital setting for 10 years. During my tenure there, I used the following modalities when treating clients: Solution Focused Brief Therapy, CBT, Motivational interviewing, Narrative therapy, Strengths based therapy, Problem solving therapy, mindfulness, crisis and suicide prevention, Grief and Loss, and provided countless hours in coaching individuals on disease prevention, chronic conditions and life solutions. I believe education empowers people to make informed choices and include this is most sessions to enhance therapy. I am also trained in all therapies listed in my bio and use these regularly. I use modalities separately and together according to what is needed and how you are progressing, but my base construct is CBT. Emotion Freedom Technique is a new way to approach trauma which I have been using over several months for people with trauma and have seen fantastic results.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is individualistic, holistic, and collaborative. I am and inquisitive listener who uses integrative therapy, meaning drawing from several treatment modalities tailored just for you. You will find me using imagery and analogies to help you find tangible meanings for your inward searching. Past clients would tell you I am easy to talk to, engaged, and really care about their wellbeing. I create a safe interpersonal environment so they feel at ease sharing their stories and concerns.

What you can expect from me

Therapy begins even before the first session. You will be given intake forms to fill out gathering your life history into one place. Though involved-when you begin putting your story together, wonder and questions will arise that we can discuss during our first session. Filling out the forms prior to the session helps us dive in right away to begin to develop a treatment plan full of goals and ways to get there. You will leave with direction, vision and hope. If the forms are not completed prior- we will take the first session to fill them out together and then develop a plan. Homework will enhance your growth. I will be introducing all sorts of mindfulness techniques for you to try out as well. I look forward to meeting you! Call me for a free 15-minute consultation to explore more and I can answer any questions you may have prior to scheduling with me. I am glad you’re taking the first step toward healing!
