Great to meet you!

Hello. Thank you for taking the time to read my profile. I graduated with my master's degree in counseling from the University of Houston in 2007. For the past 18 years, I have worked in the mental health field specializing in working with adolescents, young adults, and middle-aged women who have experienced concerns ranging from anxiety, depression, self-esteem, personal growth, anger management, trauma/PTSD and interpersonal/relationship issues to name a few.

My approach to therapy

I view concerns from a trauma-informed perspective, believing all individuals have experienced some level of trauma, whether it is the result of a single major traumatic event, multiple events, or relationship issues. These events result in negative views of ourselves, other people, or the world in general.

As a therapist, my goal is to work collaboratively with my clients. I am trained in a variety of interventions including EMDR, IFS, and DBT, although my particular approach will vary with each client.

What you can expect from me

Our first session will be approximately two hours. I will answer any questions you may have regarding the informed consent, review confidentiality, and then together we will complete an initial assessment. We will also discuss your goals and expectations for counseling. For the client, my goal in the first session is that you feel comfortable with me, understand the counseling process, and feel like your concerns are truly heard.
