Great to meet you!

I am a therapist with over 15 years of experience. I graduated in 2005 from the State University of New York at Oswego. In 2007, I graduated from Syracuse University with a masters degree in social work. I have experience working with clients facing a variety of issues including anxiety, depression, trauma, and role changes. Since 2018, I have also sub-specialized in maternal mental health focusing on perinatal mood disorders, infertility, and infant loss.

A bit about my approach to therapy

I enjoy helping clients on their journey in reaching their therapeutic goals. Open communication between therapist and client is important. My goal is for sessions to be effective as possible so its important for me to know not only what is working for the client but also if something is not. I primarily use cognitive behavioral therapy in sessions but also pull skills and techniques from strengths based perspective, motivational interviewing, and dialectical behavior therapy.

What you can expect from our first session

Each client's goals in therapy will be different. However, for many clients, they leave session with new insight as to patterns in their lives they may be causing them to struggle. Therapy can help you implement the changes you want to make in your life by examining the connection between ones thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. Development of coping skills to address symptoms is also important.
