Great to meet you!

Hi everyone! I’m Mary and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor. I’m passionate about therapy. It’s important to carve out time to focus on your mental health, just like carving out time to go to the gym to focus on your physical health. I love working with teens and adults, 14 and up. I have experience working with individuals, couples, first responders and LGBTQIA+. My primary areas of focus are depression, anxiety, personality disorders, and trauma. I specialize working with couples and first responders. I'm also EMDR trained. If you have questions, please don’t hesitate to call for a free 15-minute consultation.

For the past two years, I've been focusing my trainings and practice toward first responders and couples / relationship concerns. I'm EMDR trained and use this with trauma informed CBT to assist clients with trauma. For couples, I do a lot of work in attachment theory, and I can help with healing attachment wounds and find secure attachment with others.

I know that reaching out can be hard. It can be scary and intimidating taking those first steps. I can't say that therapy is easy, but it can absolutely be worth it. I am nurturing, kind and supportive, but I'm also direct. As your therapist, I serve as your mirror, reflecting back to you what I see and hear in an emotionally safe space.

My approach to therapy

I primarily use trauma informed Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I integrate skills from Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, including mindfulness and distress tolerance. I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), but I leave it up to you to decide if this is the best therapy for you.

What you can expect from me

From the first session, we work toward achieving goals that you set. I'll ask you what you want to accomplish in therapy, and we work together to help you achieve those goals.
