Great to meet you!

Hi, I’m Mary-Eliza Gray, the counselor behind Apricity Horizons Counseling 🌞. I’m a dog mom, coffee enthusiast (the first sip is always the best), and someone who somehow manages to fall asleep on the couch before finishing most shows. Staying active through spin, mountain biking, hiking, or skiing keeps me grounded, while cozy interiors and warm spaces fuel my creative side.

I am a graduate of Western Colorado University with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and earned my Master’s in Professional Counseling from the University of Northern Colorado.

I see therapy as mental maintenance—a space to care for your well-being, grow, and navigate life’s challenges—not because something is wrong, but because you deserve support and clarity. I work with individuals and couples to help them live authentically and with self-compassion. I integrate evidence-based approaches—such as client centered cognitive-behavioral strategies and Gottman Method Couples Therapy—to support each client and partnership’s unique path toward healing, growth, and stronger connection.

My approach to therapy

At Apricity Horizons Counseling, I believe therapy is a proactive and empowering choice—a courageous step toward growth and self-understanding. My practice name, Apricity, means “the warmth of the sun in winter,” reflecting my belief that even in the coldest seasons of life, there is always light and renewal.

I offer a warm, collaborative, and relational space where no problem is too small or too overwhelming. Whether you’re seeking short-term support or deep, long-term healing, my goal is to help you uncover resilience, embrace growth, and feel empowered again. Therapy here is more than treatment—it is the gentle sunlight in winter, guiding you back to yourself.

What you can expect from me

Before a session with me, my clients often feel overwhelmed, lost, or emotionally stuck. They may be questioning who they are, unsure of how to move forward, or carrying a sense of disconnection from their own inner voice. There's often a deep desire for change—but also fear, self-doubt, or just exhaustion from holding it all together.

A session with me is a space of warmth, non-judgment, and genuine connection. I bring a calm, grounded presence that invites clients to explore at their own pace. Whether we’re unpacking the past or focusing on what’s happening now, I help clients feel seen and heard, while gently guiding them toward clarity, self-trust, and new perspectives. We work collaboratively, with a mix of deep reflection, empowerment, and practical steps forward.

After a session, clients often feel lighter—like they can breathe a bit deeper. They leave with a renewed sense of hope, a clearer understanding of themselves, and more compassion for where they are in their journey. While growth takes time, each session is a step toward feeling more confident, aligned, and connected to who they truly are.
