Great to meet you!

I am a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner who has dedicated my career to mental health care. Before becoming an APRN, I practiced as a psychiatric RN, and that foundation continues to shape how I approach treatment today — with steadiness, careful listening, and attention to the full picture.

I earned my degrees (BSN and MSN) from the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, Mississippi, before relocating and putting down roots in West Virginia. Over the years, I have worked with individuals across the lifespan, including children, adolescents, and adults navigating anxiety, depression, ADHD, OCD, and other mood-related concerns, as well as trauma-related symptoms, neurodivergence, and periods of burnout or transition.

My goal is not simply symptom reduction, but helping people move from surviving to genuinely thriving.

My approach to therapy

I take a person-centered, holistic approach to psychiatric care. I prioritize getting to know the individual beyond a diagnosis — understanding lifestyle, stressors, relationships, medical history, strengths, and long-term goals alongside evidence-based medication management.

Appointments are never rushed. I believe meaningful progress happens when people feel heard, respected, and actively involved in their treatment decisions. My style is collaborative and transparent. We review options together, discuss risks and benefits clearly, and adjust thoughtfully as needed.

Whether I am working with a child, adolescent, or adult, my focus remains the same: providing steady, compassionate care that supports long-term stability, clarity, and growth.

What you can expect from me

The first session is comprehensive and centered on understanding you as a whole person. We will discuss your current concerns, psychiatric and medical history, previous treatment experiences, and what you hope will feel different moving forward.

You can expect a structured but conversational evaluation. I ask thoughtful questions to understand patterns and context, and there is always space for you to ask questions as well.

By the end of our session, we will have:

• A clear understanding of your symptoms and goals

• A collaborative treatment plan

• Thoughtful next steps tailored to your needs

Most importantly, you can expect a calm, non-judgmental environment where you do not need to have everything figured out before you arrive.
