Great to meet you!

Warm regards! My name is Mary. I'm an LPC-S Therapist who's a creative problem solver; able to listen closely and really hear your unique story so we can find the skills and strategies you need to implement in order to reduce stress and sadness in your life. I have decades of training in multiple modalities and creative ways to deal with setbacks and disappointments. I will use evidence based interventions that are specific to your situation and that are shown to be effective for your issue.

My approach to therapy

You may be so hard on yourself that you are caught in a trap of negative thoughts and beliefs. You need encouragement and new ideas! I use analogies & metaphors that let you see your situation in a new way and more easily succeed in coping with stress and change what is not working for you. Personality plays a big part in our lives and everyone has a "best way" of doing things. We all need to create good boundaries-internal & external-if you don't have them every day can be stressful.

What you can expect from me

The goal of counseling is to help increase self-awareness; knowledge of where we've been, where we’re stuck or why we’re confused about our life. In clearing out and processing the overwhelming hurdles in our minds, we can change or modify the way we function. You will learn new strategies and skills, experience growth, manage life's transitions, strengthen self-awareness and figure out how to live a happier, fulfilling life. I believe it's possible and I've seen it happen.
