Mary Mazgaj

I’m an empath at heart, sometimes to a fault, but I believe empathy is at the core of a caring provider. As a self-described "recovering over-achiever", I have a unique perspective on clients that struggle with perfectionism, control issues, and OCD. I have a 10-year background in primary care and pain management so I'm acutely attuned to the physiologic and medical aspects of psychiatric disorders.

Over the years I've seen many who, by the time they reach me, feel like the mental health system has failed them. This can leave patients feeling hopeless and distrustful. My goal in approaching patients is to make them feel heard. I take a patient-centered, collaborative approach while aiming to build a mutually respectful patient-provider relationship.
