Great to meet you!

After retiring from a 22 year career in collegiate athletics administration mentoring student-athletes through their academic and athletic careers, I returned to school, receiving a masters degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Georgian Court University.

Returning to school was prompted by my passion for helping and supporting individuals in their growth. I received my certification in trauma-informed yoga from the Sakala School of Integrative Teaching, and am registered 200-hour yoga teacher. I believe "the body keeps the score" and have presented on Mind/Body Interventions in Mental Health.

I am currently a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of New Jersey and a member of the American Counseling Association and the New Jersey Counseling Association. I am a Certified Women’s Mental Health Specialist as well as an Ecotherapist.

My approach to therapy

I work from a client-centered perspective, understanding the client’s journey is their own. Believing it is the counselor’s job to follow the client’s lead, I help through guiding and challenging as the client works toward the change they desire. Building rapport and trust is most important, and I acheive that through non-judgement and empathy. Although I believe the therapist’s toolbox should be diverse, the existential theories provide a solid base to build an outlook towards the future of wellness. Mind/body is foundational to my work, assisting me in allowing my clients to become comfortable in their body to facilitate healing and growth. In this, everything is invitational, allowing agency for the individual. When the weather permits, I work with clients outside, providing Ecotherapy, where nature becomes the best healer.

In our first session it is important you feel comfortable. My hope is taht office is warm and inviting and you will find it a safe place. I will ask questions to get to know you as we discuss what hopes and goals you have for our time together.
