Great to meet you!

You may be holding a lot beneath the surface while still trying to keep up with the people and responsibilities in your life. Anxiety can leave you feeling overwhelmed or constantly on edge, depression may make it harder to feel connected or motivated, and grief can change the way you see yourself and the world around you. You may also be navigating women’s issues or carrying the effects of trauma that continue to show up in your relationships, emotions, or everyday life. I work with children, adolescents, adults, and seniors experiencing anxiety, depression, grief and loss, women’s issues, and trauma. These concerns can also intersect with substance use, ADHD, bipolar disorder, eating concerns, OCD, family or relationship difficulties, identity concerns, PTSD, or other challenges that may be connected to what brings you to therapy. My goal is to create a space where you can feel understood without having to minimize what you are going through. Together, we can make sense of your experiences, build on your strengths, and work toward feeling more grounded, capable, and hopeful.

My approach to therapy

Our work will make room for both the person you are today and the experiences, relationships, and emotions that have shaped you. We’ll explore how anxiety, depression, grief and loss, women’s issues, and trauma may be affecting your emotional wellbeing and the way you move through your relationships and daily life. I may use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to help you recognize patterns in thoughts and behaviors that contribute to distress and develop healthier ways of responding, Strength-Based Therapy to build on the abilities and resources you already have, and Solution Focused Brief Therapy to identify practical steps toward the changes you want to make. Trauma Focused CBT can help you process difficult experiences while developing skills to manage their emotional impact, while Narrative Therapy can help you examine the stories you have developed about yourself and your experiences. When relationship concerns are part of the work, approaches such as Gottman Method or Emotionally Focused Therapy can help you better understand patterns of connection and create healthier ways of relating. Our sessions will be collaborative, compassionate, and tailored to your needs, balancing deeper understanding with practical tools you can carry into your everyday life.

What you can expect from me

You do not need to arrive knowing exactly what needs to change or how to explain everything you are feeling. During our first few sessions, we will take time to understand what brought you to therapy, what has been most difficult, and what you hope will feel different. Together, we will identify goals that feel meaningful and realistic and decide where it makes the most sense to begin. You can expect me to listen with warmth and curiosity, ask thoughtful questions, and create a space where you can talk openly without feeling judged or rushed. Progress may look like feeling less overwhelmed by anxiety, reconnecting with yourself when depression feels heavy, finding your way through grief, feeling more confident navigating women’s issues or life transitions, or processing trauma so that past experiences have less influence over your present. We will continue checking in on your goals and adjust our work as your needs evolve. When you are ready, you can schedule your first session with me through Headway.
