Great to meet you!

Before entering the clinical space, I spent nine years serving as a probation officer. That foundational experience fundamentally shaped how I view human resilience, giving me a profound understanding of the criminal justice and child welfare systems. It also taught me the absolute privilege it is to offer individuals a safe, empowering baseline for care where they are not defined by their hardest days. Today, as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with over 21 years of clinical experience, I work with adolescents, adults, couples, and families navigating complex mental health challenges. My educational journey—from a Bachelor's in Criminology to a Master's in Counseling Psychology—has equipped me to tackle issues from multiple angles. Whether you are dealing with anxiety, depression, PTSD, ADHD, or Conduct Disorders, my goal is to honor your unique story and provide the compassionate, structured support your family needs to heal from trauma.

My approach to therapy

My therapeutic style is structured, tailored, and deeply rooted in the belief that true emotional growth requires both a genuine personal connection and proven, evidence-based tools. I do not rely on a rigid formula; instead, I adapt my techniques to meet the specific realities of your life. By integrating Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Emotion-Focused Therapy, Psychodynamic insights, and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, we can address everything from daily anxiety to deep-seated family disputes. I focus heavily on a strengths-based perspective, partnering with you to identify what is already working well and building from there. Together, we will set tangible, actionable goals, ensuring that our sessions translate into practical strategies that help you manage symptoms, improve your relationships, and confidently navigate whatever obstacles are in front of you.

What you can expect from me

The first hour we spend together is designed to be a grounding pause in your week—a space to step away from your daily stressors and simply breathe. I know that opening up to a new therapist can feel intimidating, so my immediate priority is creating a calm, completely non-judgmental environment. Rather than rushing through an overwhelming intake process, we will explore your personal history, family dynamics, and current symptoms at a pace that feels genuinely comfortable for you. I will answer any questions you have about the therapeutic process, and we will work together to define your client-centered goals. By the end of our initial consultation, you will leave with a clear, collaborative roadmap for how we will tackle these challenges side by side.
