Great to meet you!

Many of my clients come in feeling stuck. They're managing anxiety or low mood, burned out at work, navigating a transition, or questioning a part of their identity. They want practical support and a thoughtful guide, not just venting space.

I'm a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) and I've worked with hundreds of clients since 2008. I also bring something most therapists don't - I've spent years inside corporate environments, including as a Vice President of Human Resources. That experience taught me something I now carry into every session: career and life are not separate tracks. A demanding job affects your mood, your relationships, and your sleep. A divorce, a new baby, a parent's illness, grief, or your own mental health affect how you show up at work. When clients tell me their career is "just one part" of what's going on, I usually find it's threaded through everything else. Whether you have a job consuming you, you are between jobs, or life outside work is what is consuming you, all of it is welcome here.

My background also includes a PhD in Industrial-Organizational Psychology and an MS in Counseling, and I've taught graduate counseling courses at Portland State University. My 17 years of experience span clinical practice, academia, and corporate HR leadership.

My style is grounded, warm, and collaborative. I'll meet you where you are, take what you bring seriously, and help you see what's working, what's not, and what you actually want from here.

My approach to therapy

My approach is warm, yet distinctly practical and action-oriented. I draw on CBT, ACT, mindfulness, and solution-focused coaching to build coping skills and create real progress in the near term. I bring in humanistic, existential, narrative, and Jungian-influenced work when patterns run deeper. Most clients benefit from both. Practical traction first, plus space to understand what's actually driving things.

Because I've worked as a clinician, coach, and former HR leader, I tend to hold two perspectives at once. The inner world of what you're feeling, and the outer reality of the systems you're operating in, whether those are workplaces, families, relationships, or cultures.

Therapy with me is collaborative and goal-oriented, but I won't rush you past something that needs more time. I tailor the work to whether you're managing anxiety or depression, working through burnout, clarifying identity, repairing self-esteem, or navigating a professional or personal transition.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, we'll talk about what brought you in, what you've been experiencing, and what you'd like to get out of therapy. I'll ask questions to understand your history, strengths, stressors, and goals, and we'll start shaping a direction that feels supportive and manageable.

Clients often describe sessions with me as thoughtful, grounding, and encouraging. You can expect a collaborative conversation, space to reflect without judgment, and practical steps you can begin using right away.
