Great to meet you!

Hi, I'm Matt. For over a decade, I’ve had the privilege of walking alongside individuals to help them break through burnout, navigate high-stress life transitions, and step off autopilot. I created Grounded Counseling to offer a straightforward, down-to-earth virtual space where you can get clear, actionable support from the comfort of your own environment.

My practice is built on a simple principle: once you see the pattern, you have the option to break it. If you are struggling with a heavy baseline of anxiety, burnout, depression, or substance use challenges, you have come to the right place.

My background spans intensive work in community mental health and dual diagnosis crisis settings. That deep clinical foundation taught me how to look past surface-level symptoms to help you build lasting, sustainable change. In this space, we utilize structured, evidence-based frameworks like Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) , Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive Behavioral strategies to help you manage daily stressors, gain deep internal insight, and align your daily actions with your true values.

If you are ready to stop managing symptoms from the passenger seat and start actively navigating your life with intent, let's connect. I make it easy to utilize your insurance benefits via Headway so you can focus entirely on your growth.

My approach to therapy

My approach combines a calm, grounded presence with a highly tailored blend of evidence-based modalities, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Cognitive Behavioral structures. This integration allows us to look at both the practical and the existential.

For clients utilizing their insurance benefits, our work focuses on rapid, goal-directed symptom relief—giving you concrete strategies to manage anxiety, address burnout, and break through emotional stagnation. Beyond basic coping mechanisms, I help you slow down, cultivate sharp awareness, and align your daily actions with your core values. Together, we move past surface-level symptoms to build emotional intelligence and true autonomy, helping you reclaim control over your own life.

What you can expect from me

Clients can expect to be seen—not only by me, but by themselves. In our initial session, we will break down the immediate symptoms keeping you stuck on autopilot and look at your current stressors with fresh perspective. You will walk away with an initial framework for our work and a clear, non-judgmental plan to begin moving from burnout to agency.
