Great to meet you!

Starting psychiatric care can feel uncertain, especially when you have not felt heard or previous treatment has not worked as hoped. I am a board-certified psychiatrist who works with adults experiencing depression, anxiety, ADHD, mood changes, substance use concerns, and complex or long-standing symptoms. I take a big-picture approach, considering your symptoms alongside your health, relationships, daily life, and personal goals. I listen closely, explain treatment options clearly, and work with you to develop a plan that feels manageable and appropriate for your life. My goal is for you to leave appointments with a clearer understanding of what we are addressing and what comes next.

My approach to therapy

My approach is guided by evidence-based treatment, but I also recognize that people are not textbooks and that the same plan will not work for everyone. I take time to listen, understand what may be contributing to your symptoms, and look beyond the immediate problem to the bigger picture. We will work together to find treatment that is effective while also being tolerable, realistic, and manageable in your daily life. I want you to feel informed, involved, and comfortable speaking openly about what is or is not working.

What you can expect from me

During our first session, I will take time to understand what has been happening, how it is affecting your life, and what you hope to change. We will review your symptoms, medical and treatment history, current stresses, and the bigger picture that may be contributing to your concerns. I will share my initial impressions, answer your questions, and discuss treatment options without rushing you into a decision. By the end of the visit, my goal is for us to have a clearer understanding of the problem and a practical next step that feels both appropriate and realistic.
