Great to meet you!

My client's feel overwhelmed by the many challenges life throws at them, they often can recognize an unhelpful thought or feeling but finding and acting on what to do about it is something different entirely. My client's often feel that they simply aren't trying hard enough or that they aren't deserving of kind words form themselves or others.

I work with my clients to learn how to work with their mind rather than against it. Things like worry, self doubt and guilt don't come from nowhere and can only be pushed aside for so long. I use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy to help clients develop clear skills to respond to their stressors and emotions in ways that work for them.

I have both personal and professional experience in the world of mental health and navigating issues of depression, anxiety and trauma. I understand that opening up about vulnerable topics to a stranger can be an incredibly uncomfortable thing. Therapy goes at your pace, I will work to challenge you but you are always welcome to take a pause or tell me to slow down.

My approach to therapy

Treatment starts with us getting to know each other; I have a lot to catch up on and you deserve to make an informed decision if I am the person you want to be working with. As we explore you current situation, goals and the context surrounding them we will identify skills that may work for you and I will present alternative perspectives.

Therapy is a team effort. You decide where we are going and I help guide you along the path. I will challenge you along the way and I invite you to do the same.

What you can expect from me

Clients can expect a safe place to express what they are facing. I provide psychological education as well. I find that if clients understand the science behind a particular approach it is simpler to remember and experiment with.
