Great to meet you!

Welcome! I am Matt and I am a Licensed Clinical Therapist in my 50s, married with college age kids and I've spent the better part of 30 years working with people that have found themselves facing challenges in life: Whether that be individuals facing difficult life situations, families under pressure, schools in crisis, and youth struggling to find themselves. What I've learned is that every person carries real strength, even when it doesn't feel that way. I work from a holistic view, not just what's going on in your head, but how you relate to the people and world around you. Change is possible, I would be honored to be part of yours.

My approach to therapy

I have always believed in helping people develop and find their own strength for solutions that will work in their own context. That mean listening without judgment. Our shared humanity and the right for a personal sense of dignity exist for everyone in my opinion, regardless of social, economic, or cultural differences and similarities. Pain and suffering are universal human experiences, but so are joy, peace, and the ability to start again. Change is possible, both internal and external. What do you want to change?

What you can expect from me

Well, I'm going to ask you to share your story with me. It's your story, not mine. It's okay to be nervous, or skeptical, but I think it's crucial to be honest with each other in a safe space. If you don't connect with me, then I want you to find someone you can connect with. That connection with your therapist, one of trust, is more important than what method of therapy one applies. My goal is for you to leave our first session feeling heard, and maybe a little less alone with whatever brought you here.
