Great to meet you!

I began this journey years ago in order to help my community and those that want the help to live a better life after seeing what trauma can do to a a family. I went back to school and studied Psychology to obtain my Master of Science in 2014. I was a full time student and had been on disability when the decision was made to retool and retrain. I have worked withe teenagers within the juvenile justice system and now work adolescents to us older folk. I hope that we can work together.

My approach to therapy

I take a truly compassionate approach with an understanding that asking for help is a hard thing to do and takes strength. I predominantly work using a CBT approach to seeing how the thought interacts with the behaviors. "We truly are what we think!" is both a truth and a statement of empowerment for some. I try to be understanding and kind, but will bring the truth when needed to help change perspective. I believe the first step is to "know who you are." Look forward to seeing you in session.

What you can expect from me

I believe in hard work and then fun. We can get things done and still be able to connect for more understanding of each other. I like definitions and work with emotions and "states of existence." I try to give a nugget of growth or potential for change within every session, by listening, challenging, and reshaping the thought processes may be holding you back from being your best you. "If you reshape your thoughts, you can change your world." It is collaborative and joint effort.
