Great to meet you!

I am a native Southern Californian now living in the Greater Sacramento/Roseville area. I have been interested in psychology since I took a course in high school and visited the patients at the old Camarillo State Hospital. I have a Masters of Science Degree in Counseling Psychology with an emphasis on Marriage, Family and Child Counseling.

I have over 35 years experience in behavioral healthcare, mostly in private in-patient psychiatric hospitals with a medical model approach also in outpatient settings as well. I use person-centered and solution focused modalities to help clients improve their current circumstances and reach their full potential by applying coping skills and reaching self actualization.

A bit about my approach to therapy

My style of therapy is working in partnership with the client collaboratively to develop coping skills including short term and long term treatment goals to address the issues in a solution focussed and supportive manner to improve the quality of life. Evidence Based modalities are utilized for maximum efficacy of treatment.

My specialties are Court Ordered Counseling, Addictions, Pathological Gambling, Depression, Anxiety, Anger Management, Couples, Self Esteem & LGBTQIA+. I work with adolescents (12 y.o.+), adults and the elderly.

What you can expect from our first session

The focus of each session addresses the most important issues affecting the client in a non judgement, affirming and supportive manner. Focus is on the present and necessary coping skills to utilize to use moving forward in order to make progress and improvements as quickly as possible. Practical coping skills, techniques and strategies will be discussed as well as homework assignments to help reach the treatment goals in a timely fashion.
