Great to meet you!

I have been in the psychology field for over 20 years. I have an extensive background treating public safety, military, hospital personnel and there families for trauma, work related stressors and family issues. I have treated people who have survived trauma and I am also a trauma survivor. I have worked substance abuse treatment facilities and both inpatient and out patient psychiatric hospitals treating moderate to severe mental heath problems.

I am experienced in conducting diagnostic testing evaluations, fitness for work and pre-employment evaluations. I am a court recognized expert in a few different areas.

Due to my time practicing and vast experience nothing suprises me. I have seen, heard or dealt with most things in the this field. You cannot put a price tag on experience. I have also lived life and have experienced many things myself that clients come into my office wanting help with. I don't know about you but I like getting help from those that have treated the issues in the past or have gone through it themselves versus those that have read about it in books.

My approach to therapy

REMEMBER, it takes strength to ask for help not weakness.

I take time with my clients and treat them with the care I would want my family to be treated with. I use the techniques required for each individual circumstance in order to reach the optimum result. Therefore, I use a multitude of therapy approaches to treat the issue. I meet the client where they are at not expecting the client to meet me where I am at or where I think the client should meet me in their treatment.

What you can expect from me

What clients can expect to take away from sessions with me is answers, solutions and if your willing to do the work results. I believe that right from the first session the client should leave the session with understanding of the problem, direction of the treatment and at least one coping skill to use to start the healing process. Remember, I cannot help to heal you unless they are willing to do the work to help yourself.
