Great to meet you!

Sometimes what happened in the past doesn’t stay in the past. It can show up as anxiety you can’t switch off, reactions that feel bigger than the moment, tension in your relationships, or a constant sense that you need to stay on guard. If you’re ready to understand those patterns and begin changing them, you don’t have to do it alone. I provide virtual therapy for children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families throughout Louisiana, with a focus on anxiety, trauma, PTSD, and family issues. I also support clients navigating depression, ADHD, bipolar disorder, anger, panic, grief and loss, substance use, relationship concerns, identity issues, infertility, and other experiences that can become intertwined with trauma and chronic stress. With more than 15 years of experience, my goal is to help you understand what is keeping you stuck, feel more secure in the present, and build healthier ways of moving forward.

My approach to therapy

I believe effective trauma therapy should help you process what happened without making you feel like you have to relive your past every week. As a certified EMDR therapist, I use Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing to help you work through traumatic experiences and reduce the impact they continue to have on your emotions, beliefs, relationships, and everyday life. You may have come to therapy because of trauma, PTSD, anxiety, or family difficulties, only to discover that these experiences are also affecting your mood, relationships, ability to manage anger or panic, or the ways you cope with stress. Depression, substance use, grief, ADHD, and other challenges can become connected to that larger picture as well. We’ll work together to understand those connections rather than treating every concern as an isolated problem. Depending on your needs, I may also draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Internal Family Systems informed work, Attachment Based Therapy, Positive Psychology, Parent Child Interaction Therapy, and Solution Focused approaches to help you develop practical skills and create lasting change.

What you can expect from me

You won’t be expected to dive into your most difficult experiences the moment therapy begins. Our first few sessions will focus on understanding what brought you here, learning about your history and current challenges, and identifying what you want to change. Together, we’ll develop a treatment plan that reflects your goals and determine when and how deeper trauma work may be helpful. Throughout our work, you can expect a supportive, thoughtful environment where we move with purpose while respecting your pace. We’ll recognize progress, adjust our approach when something isn’t working, and build skills you can use beyond our sessions. My hope is that therapy helps you feel less controlled by what you’ve experienced, more confident in how you respond to life today, and better equipped to create the future you want.
