Great to meet you!

Hello and welcome to my psychotherapy practice. My name is Matthew and I have been practicing as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in San Francisco and Los Angeles for over twenty years. I honor diversity and inclusion and provide a curious, non-judgmental space for reflection, healing and transformation. As a therapist, I bring a mix of pragmatic feedback and practical skills development to empower my clients to grow and change. As an Attachment-Focused EMDR therapist, I support clients with PTSD and interpersonal trauma to heal and become more present. I hold a Master's Degree in Counseling Psychology and Drama Therapy from the California Institute of Integral Studies in San Francisco and I serve individuals, couples, families, youth, and the LGBTQ community.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is compassionate, accepting and heart-centered, combined with effective evidence-based skills for improving emotional, mental and interpersonal well-being. I specialize in EMDR trauma reprocessing work and teach Mindfulness/DBT skills for distress tolerance, emotional regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness. I value the therapeutic relationship above all else and seek to provide a safe, caring and non-judgmental space for my clients to heal, grow and transform.

What you can expect from me

In the first session, we will explore your goals and needs and develop a clear plan of action to support you. Whether you are seeking guidance on your life path, addressing a specific area of need, or desiring a more in-depth healing and growth experience, you will find a partner in me who honors your process and supports your development.
