Great to meet you!

Hi! I'm a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist based in California. I received my Masters from Azusa Pacific University and have been practicing for 6 years. I've worked the most with young adults and adolescences having taught high school for the last 11 years as well. That said I have worked with people of all ages and I've helped a large range of issues people face most and help them become the best versions of themselves. I work with couples and families as well. I've gone through a small variety of careers myself and stumbled across being a therapist, something I didn't realize I would enjoy as much as I do. Before attending Azusa I went to Franciscan University of Steubenville and The Augustine Institute. Originally set out for a career in TV and radio, but life took me on a different path.

My approach to therapy

I believe that at any point most people are trying their best at life and the could be doing better. I view my role at how I can help you jump start the aspect of your life. Every therapy experience is unique and while peoples needs are similar they also vary on a number of levels. Therapy looks a little different with every client. Some need more encouragement and some need more of a push. Some need to go back and hash out past trauma, and others are looking for solutions. We'll talk about your specific goals and figure out what approach will be best for you and if you're not seeing progress we'll pivot to something different.

What you can expect from me

In our first session together, we'll start with brief introductions, then dive into the specific challenges you're facing. This will help me create a tailored plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions. We'll talk about the highs, the lows, and the buffalos (my spouse's way of describing a weird or unexpected experience). After this sessions usually start with the presenting problems from the previous week or two, we will learn over time the commonalities, habits, or negative cognitions you're struggling with and learning new ways of coping, self talk, differentiation, and how to get you to a place where I am no longer needed.
