Great to meet you!

I’m Maura Carey, LICSW. I received my Bachelor’s degree from Eastern Connecticut State University and my Master’s in Social Work from Fordham University. I have experience supporting children, adolescents, adults, and families, and I strive to create a warm, welcoming space where clients feel heard, understood, and comfortable being themselves.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is collaborative, compassionate, and individualized. I believe in meeting each person where they are, both in therapy and in their day-to-day life. I strive to create a space where you feel comfortable being yourself and where your experiences are met with understanding and without judgment. Together, we can identify your goals, build on your strengths, and develop practical tools to navigate life’s challenges.

What you can expect from me

During our first session, we’ll get to know each other and talk about what brought you to therapy and what you’re hoping to work toward. We’ll also go over some standard intake questions and assessments to help me better understand your experiences, strengths, and current challenges. Most importantly, I want you to feel comfortable, heard, and supported as we begin building a therapeutic relationship together.
