Great to meet you!

My passion has always been in the helping field, and for the past 25 years, I've dedicated my career to community mental health. I am a multicultural therapist and my practice is built on the principle of affirming cultural experience. My expertise lies in supporting individuals through crises, with a specific focus on trauma, depression, anxiety and substance use. I believe that everyone is the expert on their own life, and I am here as a support person to help you on your healing journey.

I am committed to creating a safe, non-judgmental space where you can feel truly seen, heard, and respected. We will work as a team to help you reach your goals and foster a more fulfilled life. My extensive experience includes working in various settings such as clinics, crisis centers, and hospitals. I also had the privilege of managing a Transitional Age Youth Clinic and a Post Crisis Team, which has equipped me with a diverse skill set to support a wide range of clients. This experience has provided me with a wide range of skills to support a diverse client base. For your convenience, I offer flexible scheduling, including weekend appointments.

My approach to therapy

My approach is collaborative, client-centered, and integrative. My goal is to create a warm, safe, and non-judgmental space where you feel truly seen, heard, and respected.

I draw from various therapeutic modalities, tailoring our work to your unique needs. My primary focus is on trauma-informed care, meaning I understand how past and present trauma can impact your life. We will work together to process these experiences, develop effective coping strategies, and foster resilience.

I utilize techniques from Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to help you build psychological flexibility and live a more values-driven life. Additionally, I integrate Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) to help you process and heal from trauma. We'll also incorporate mindfulness practices to help you connect with the present moment and manage difficult emotions.

Ultimately, our work is a partnership. We'll explore your strengths, address your challenges, and create a path forward that helps you become more fulfilled and confident in your life.

What you can expect from me

Working with me, you can expect to not only feel a shift in your internal world but also gain concrete skills to apply in your daily life. We'll build on your strengths to help you develop a sense of resilience, confidence, and self-compassion. Ultimately, you'll leave therapy with a renewed sense of hope and a clear path toward a more fulfilling and joyful life.
