Great to meet you!

As a person who identifies and presents as a member of multiple marginalized communities including black women, queer community and immigrants, I am seasoned in navigating systems that contest one’s ability to create a positive and healthy life.

Through much adversity including grief, homelessness, violence, poverty to name a few, I realized the importance of a healthy mind at an early age.

A bit about my approach to therapy

My therapy approach is the result of the lengthy, complex, personal and professional journey of an African immigrant black woman following the beat of her own drum. My hope is to utilize my skills and experiences to create movements that bring value to my client’s mental health. This space is a reflective, culturally sensitive, empathetic, client-focused, nonjudgmental space using the art of language to facilitate movement in mental health.

What you can expect from our first session

My professional background is a combination of education and mental health. After relocating due to the military, I decided to pursue a Masters of Science in Counseling at San Diego State University. My training includes a variety of settings including schools, hospitals and private practice. As a licensed Narrative therapist, I use a strength-based lens in combination with other postmodern modalities.
