Maureen Obiofuma, DNP, PMHNP-BC, is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with over 11 years of patient care experience. She is dedicated to helping individuals achieve emotional wellness through compassionate, evidence-based psychiatric care and specializes in treating a wide range of psychiatric conditions in adolescent and adult populations.
Maureen Obiofuma earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing with distinction from Emory University and later completed her Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) in Psychiatry at Augusta University, graduating summa cum laude. Her advanced training and extensive clinical experience enable her to provide thoughtful, comprehensive mental health care.
Her clinical approach is holistic, patient-centered, and collaborative. Maureen believes that effective mental health treatment should address the biological, psychological, and social aspects of a person’s well-being. She works closely with each patient to develop individualized treatment plans that promote long-term stability and improved quality of life.
Maureen has experience treating a broad spectrum of psychiatric conditions, including anxiety disorders, depression, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), bipolar disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), women’s mental health concerns, and insomnia.
She is committed to creating a supportive and respectful environment where patients feel heard, understood, and empowered in their mental health journey.
