Great to meet you!

Hi, I'm Max, a licensed clinical social worker in Chicago. I work with teens and adults carrying anxiety, trauma, PTSD, OCD, or family conflict that feels too heavy to hold alone. My goal is simple: help you feel steadier, more understood, and less stuck. I'd love to talk with you or your family about what's going on.

My approach to therapy

I bring a practical, strength-based style that meets you where you are. Together we'll use cognitive behavioral techniques to examine thoughts that feel like facts but aren't, and I draw on narrative therapy to help you make sense of your story on your own terms. With families, I use psychoeducational and multi-systemic approaches so everyone understands what's happening and how to support each other. I'm also trained in DBT skills for adolescents and families, which gives teens concrete tools for big emotions. Sessions are collaborative: we set goals together and check in on what's actually changing, not just what we talked about.

What you can expect from me

Your first session is mostly about getting to know you: what brought you in, what you've tried before, and what you're hoping changes. From there we build a plan together, with clear, practical steps between sessions. You can expect a warm, direct style, honest feedback, and a therapist who treats your family's time and effort as seriously as you do.
